I hope you are finding ways to add exercise, eat more colorful fruits and vegetables and are making sleep and stress management top priorities!!


Here is the fourth tip to improve your chances of staying healthy and boosting your immune system:


Vitamins:


Vitamin C is one of the best immune boosters of all! Without Vitamin C you are more prone to getting sick. There are many foods rich in vitamin C, including oranges, tangerines, strawberries, bell peppers, kale, spinach, broccoli and grapefruits. It’s important to get sufficient supplies of vitamin C because your body doesn’t make or store it. This vitamin is essential for the growth and repair of tissue all over the body. It helps heal wounds, repair and maintain health bones, skin, teeth and cartilage. It also helps fight free radicals, helping to fight certain cancers and heart disease as well as reduce the risk of cartilage loss for those with osteoarthritis.


Vitamin B6 is important to enhancing the biochemical responses in the immune system. Foods rich in vitamin B6 include chicken and cold water fish such as tuna and salmon, green vegetables, and chick peas, one of the main ingredients in hummus.

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that assists the body to combat infection. Nuts, seeds and spinach are great options to supply the body with vitamin E.
